Parent Coaching Support

Personalised, Practical, Hands-On Support For Parents, That Isn't 'Parenting'

Do you need personalised, practical strategies and support for your child that genuinely work?

Are you looking for approaches that suit your family and you can use in real life, that have a real impact?

Parent coaching with Bright SEN offers hands-on, practical support that isn’t parenting advice, isn’t patronising, and isn’t permissive.

Unlike some of the more traditional or standard approaches you may have been offered through other channels, there’s no mention of punishments and reprimands.

Bright SEN’s coaching is deeply rooted in evidence‑based, therapeutic support that helps you feel confident, calm and equipped in the moments that matter.

These sessions will give you the tools, understanding and clarity you need to support your child day‑to‑day and during trickier moments.

As an experienced SENCo, teacher, therapeutic practitioner, and a parent myself, this support is grounded in over 20 years of working closely with children with a wide range of needs, supporting families through complex situations, and using therapeutic, evidence‑based approaches that genuinely make a difference, alongside my own experiences as a parent

What this support offers

Every family is different, and every child’s responses are unique. These sessions are tailored to your child, your context and your everyday life.

Together, we focus on up‑skilling and empowering you to understand the “why” behind your child’s responses, so you can support them with clarity, care and confidence.

Grounded in therapeutic and neuroscience‑informed approaches, I help you make sense of what’s happening beneath your child’s behaviour, their brain processes, the skills they may be finding difficult, and the triggers that shape their responses. From there, we build practical strategies that feel doable, compassionate and effective.

What we work on together

  • Understanding your child’s brain processes I’ll help you understand your child’s brain, their neurobiology and how this drives reactions day to day and in those bigger moments, so you have a clear understanding of why certain behaviours might be happening, or not. I’ll support you to use this understanding in the moment to name and shift reactions
  • Understanding your child’s Executive Functioning I’ll help you make sense of your child’s key executive functioning skills and the underlying needs that show up in day‑to‑day interactions.  Together we’ll develop and practice strategies to play to their strengths and build areas where their skills might be weaker so you see change quickly
  • Practical strategies for everyday life Clear, calm, connected ways of responding, both in the moment and proactively day to day, helping you feel equipped, grounded and confident. These strategies are personalised to your family, simple, usable and designed to work wherever you are.
  • Supporting you to support your child understand themselves With your new knowledge, I’ll help you develop your interactions and use of phrases so that you are skilled in supporting your child to understand and advocate for themselves
